Even before the new financial overhaul bill was signed into law on July 21, 2010, significant speculation, confusion, and even misinformation have been circulating throughout the multi-family industry. Many questions have yet to be answered, and many new provisions may not become effective for years.

While URL’s don’t play a dominant role in Search Engine Optimization, they still have their part. Here are a few things to consider when optimizing your URLs.

• Keep URLs short: Long URL strings don’t perform as well in search results, and long, messy URLs are less likely to be copied/pasted, linked to, and shared.

• Use search keywords in your URL. The closer targeted keywords are to your domain, the better.

If you ask Doug Phillips about his hobbies, he’ll list the two that take up all of his time: his work & his family. Doug spent some time living on both coasts before finally settling down here in the mountains of Utah and we’re glad he’s here. He’s a great addition to our development team and is always willing to go the extra mile.

It sounds like his dedication is hereditary. Ask Doug about his family and he’ll tell you about his beautiful and accomplished daughters. One danced in the “High School Musical” movie, another is a top-ranked Rodeo athlete, and another earned her first college degree (Associates) at age 17 and is on track to finish her bachelor’s degree by 19. Mobile browsing was a hot topic at NAA this year, and we were happy to contribute to the buzz by launching our latest in mobile technology: ResidentPortal Mobile.
