Property Solutions Wins First Prize

A group of BYU business students managed to change a complaint about the lack of apartment management software into an award-winning business. Fortune Small Business Magazine awarded David Bateman, Benjamin Zimmer, Michael Trionfo and non-students Jeramy Morrill and Jordan Jones first place and a $50,000 prize in the magazine's first annual "MBA Showdown" for the best business plan from the nation's top business schools. The BYU team competed against top universities such as Harvard and UC Berkeley. Their company, Property Solutions International, Inc., developed and markets Vantage XP, software that helps manage apartments online by enabling a variety of Web-based transactions and services. Since its launch in the spring of 2003, Property Solutions has attracted 30 full-time employees in Utah, Texas, Nevada, California, and Idaho.
