Provo-based Property Solutions International, Inc., a company started by undergraduate students at BYU, was featured on the November cover of Fortune Small Business Magazine--a sister publication to the larger Fortune Magazine--after winning the "MBA Showdown."

David Bateman, Benjamin Zimmer, and Michael Trionfo--all students at BYU--along with non-students Jeramy Morrill and Jordan Jones, defeated graduate students from the University of Georgia (second place) and Harvard University (third place) to claim the top spot. The company received the $50,000 top prize at a ceremony in New York City.

In about a year of existence, Property Solutions now has 30 full-time employees in Dallas, Las Vegas, California, Idaho, and Utah. Using the company's software, VANTAGE XP, apartment complex managers can easily create individualized Web sites that let potential tenants take virtual tours and allow current tenants to pay rent online.

An impending version of the software will synchronize with managers' accounting systems to save time and money.
