Studies have shown that online applications are incredibly beneficial to a property, but also that they’re not always used to their greatest potential. Fewer than 25 percent of applications are completed online by residents. And, perhaps more surprising, property managers are 20 percent more likely to follow up on guest cards than on incomplete applications. We at Property Solutions are hoping to change both of these stats.
The benefits of online applications are clear:
- There are fewer mistakes–the system validates the data (by requiring essential information, and by marking errors in phone or social security numbers and email addresses, etc).
- You save time–you no longer have the data entry as you transfer a paper application to the system (which is also another opportunity to make errors).
- You capture important data–all data is saved immediately, even if the resident abandons the application. This is helpful because the resident can come back and finish later, or you can use that incomplete information to follow up with them.
So, since online applications are so useful, why are they underused?
It’s Property Solutions’ belief that online applications aren’t fulfilling their potential because they’re often too difficult to use. Some applications require too much information—information that really isn’t necessary at this step in the leasing process. Other applications aren’t user-friendly, causing residents to get frustrated and abandon them.
Therefore, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our new, more intuitive application. We’ve refined every step of the process, removing the obstacles that may cause residents to stumble, with a clean, simple interface. It’s also fully customizable so that you can get exactly the information you need. Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible for both residents and properties. It will save you time, money, and peace of mind.
